Jones County Sheriff’s Department Ransacks our Motorhome
Filed under: motor home

http://motorhomediaries.com/rvransacked/

A few weeks ago we were illegally arrested and put in a cage at the Jones County Sheriffs Department. In total, we were held for over 12 hours but fortunately due to the outpouring of support we were released from their cage around 10pm. However, we were left homeless until the following day when we were able to get our RV back.

During that time the Jones County Sheriffs Department searched our RV, which serves as our home, office and mode of transportation not once but TWICE (on the side of I-59 when we were stopped and again at another location to which the RV was brought). Not only did the Jones County Sheriffs Department have no regard for our property, but they also used this time to delete 10 minutes of film I had taken during our arrest.

A lot of you have come forward to share your story of wrong doing by the thugs of Jones County and for that I thank you. On this note, I would like to add that there is a website up and running to document the rights-violations committed by those at the Jones County Sheriff Department.

    If they deleted …
If they deleted your data off of the card, you can retrieve it provided that you don’t write to the card.

If you can retrieve even a part of it, that is a felony. It’s destroying evidence, which is obstruction of justice. You could also get them on destruction of private property, and of course, violating your right to speech. There is nothing illegal about recording in a public area, no matter who’s face you capture.

If you’re tired of living in a police state, do something. Move to NH with the Free State Project. FreeStateProject*org

    A police state is …
A police state is when police do whatever they state.

How can the thin blue line that cant even patrol itself expect respect from the concerned public?

I saw a riot cop shake a grenade in a 11yr olds face in the park at the RNC 2008 (I was riding by on the bike path).

Pay cops and public teachers very good money and hire critical thinkers instead of drones.

I may not now it all but then again Im not collecting a paycheck and being fooled into enforcing political POLICY instead of the law.

    They left it in …
They left it in there to show you that they didn’t even care about it. A little gift, they could have confiscated, to let you to know they were just there to screw you.

This is nothing short of war, boys.

Stay safe. Do the FOIA thing, but don’t be surprised if it fails.

    And keep the faith.

    i don’t know the …
i don’t know the circumstances of your initial stop. however, the post-search status of your RV looks totally normal to me.

any post-search vids i’ve seen show total chaos; when cops toss your vehicle/home they don’t put everything away. the minor damage to the molding, etc., while certainly annoying, probably isn’t worth trying to recoup.

you should get a phone/camera that uploads to the internet in real-time.

    If you’re able to …
If you’re able to see the camera as a harddrive, you may be able to retrieve the deleted video with software like Active File Recovery, just don’t tape anything else with it before you do.

    Get the data …
Get the data recovered if it’s crucial. You can sue and get the costs back.
Do not record anything on that camera!

    You can retrieve …
You can retrieve the deleted footage if you do it now. Stop using the camera and take it to a professional.

    The Jones County …
The Jones County Sherriff’s Department is apparently filled with a bunch of immature, unprofessional amateurs.

And the fact that they deleted the camera footage is basically an admission that they acted wrongly. They obviously “had something to hide.”
