i was looking for a truck and found a ford dealer . called them up and was approved for a loan. the truck i wanted was a 5.4 triton ford 150 stx. he called me back and said he found me a truck and asked him what the motor and said triton 5.4 truck color black.,49000 miles. he wan’t me to go up there and get the truck . the time now was about 6 pm an a 2hr drive. i asked him could we wait till tomorrow and come up. he said, well i don’t want this slip away ,since i had a hard time getting this financed . so me and my wife left and arrived around 9;30 pm. truck was running outside. now you couldn’t see if any scratches etc on the truck because of low light. the salesperson and finance was the only one there. we took the truck for a ride .i didn’t know what the 5.4 triton looked like.couldn’t see that good under the hood. he said it was 5.4. at it was what i wanted. took truck home, and had some minor problems. my wife was following me and said she saw a light hanging down under bumper. i looked and it was license plate light. also outside cab light was out. the seatbelt wouldn’t lock right. you had to play with it to get it to work. now the next day, i called the salesperson and asked him to run the vin # and he said i will call you back.so i ran it and it was 4.6 triton not a 5.4. i called him back and asked him that it was 4.6. he said he would talk to the sales mgr. but nothing for 2 days.
i know that i signed a contract, but they should make this right . i don’t what they will do, but i left 2 emails, one to the sales mgr and the other to the owner.i think this was a fast sale,and the salesperson didn’t know what motor was in it. i don’t know where he got the truck, maybe from another dealer. but i will call them tomorrow.any suggestions.

You bought it under the worst conditions possible. You own it now. The only thing you could try is to contact the dealer and see if they will do anything to help. They are under no obligation, so don’t get your hopes up. Use this as a learning experience.

Most of the lettering has worn off all switches on the dash. Rescently bought this motor home used and now we have no manual to tell us what these switches are for.

all you have to do is call the company and ask them to send you a new manual

that the only thing they asked is that I get insurance coverage on it, which of course I don’t object to, but my auto insurance company doesn’t cover stuff like that. They said they don’t cover vehicles that I rent from someone, that their insurance has to cover it. They have rented the motor home to other people, who’s insurance company did it. Does anyone have any idea of a company that will cover just a rented motor home? I’m only using it for 1 week. Thanks in advance.

Well, you can’t do that.

You can’t insure my car, I can’t insure your car. You can’t buy a policy for a vehicle that you don’t own, or don’t lease for at least 6 months (and you might be asked to show a copy of the lease). Worse, "family member’s" policy doesn’t cover if they rent the motor home to someone else – that’s a business venture.

I’d strongly suspect that whoever was "covering" it before, didn’t have REAL coverage on it – if a claim had happened, everyone else would find out that the insurance company would DENY coverage.

I hit a tire that was in the road. When I got home I looked under the car and I was losing transmission fluid. After about 40 minutes, it stopped dripping completely. The next morning I called my insurance company and there wasn’t much of a conversation. They pretty much said I could take my car anywhere I wanted to get fixed and that I would be contacted by the "adjusters". So I was like oooooooooooook.

I had my car towed to a transmission shop. They said I needed a new oil pan(transmission fluid pan, not motor oil). I got my car back that same day. The amount was $257. My deductible is $500.

Here’s my question. Since the amount I paid was less than my deductible and I paid out of pocket, will my insurance be affected at all? I have State Farm. Does it affect your rates just for **the mere fact you made a claim**? What about discounts? For example, the Accident Free discount. Would that be lost? If so, how long before those discounts are reinstated?

You would need to ask your agent how your rates would be effected.

Since there is not going to be a claim payout (the damage is less than your deductible)

However, since you have reported a claim….it could affect any loss free discount you had.

But your best source of information regarding your rates will be your agent.

i was coming home from work and i hit someone else’s parked car when i skidded on ice. i have since found out that i was not supposed to drive to and from work under a technicality of not using the car for work. however i don’t use it for work and only use it for the 3 minute commute, as i have a Sunday job. however the insurance company is saying that it will not pay out for both my car and the car i hit. its a 6 grand motor and god knows what the other guys car will cost to fix. basically im asking if they are within their right to not pay out and would i have to pay for the other guys car? i understand i should phone the insurance company but they’re closed for Christmas

You have to check your paperwork and if it says "cover for Social and domestic pleasure" then they are right in that you are not covered for travelling to and from work.

If your insurance cover says "commuting to and from a place of work" then you are covered. This means basically that they will cover you if you drive to and from a place of work, regardless of when and how long you work.

If you need to use the car for work, then the policy would have read "travelling to and from a place of work as well as for travelling for work".

Once you have confirmed what you policy is for, then you will know if you are able to claim or not but to be honest, the fact that they have refused payment must mean that they have checked your policy and have therefore refused payment due to the correct coverage, or in your case, none coverage.

I plan to spend my twenties and possibly my early thirties in a motor home and was wondering whether or not anyone knows of general areas in which one could park an RV without having to pay lot fees. I was thinking just general parking lots, however, there might not be anything but payed parking certain locations, so I was wondering about alternatives.

you could buy a membership to a recreational club & then you would have facilities you could park at long term.
General parking lots do not allow you to park RV — Walmart will let you park overnight for 1night. State Highway rest stops usually allow you to stay one night. If you are constantly on the move, that might work.

If you want long term parking, then you need to lease a space & hopefully one with electric hookup and sewer dump privileges. If you were or are with the military, they offer screaming deals and really nice RV parking sites with lots of amenities.

I found a bus for sale on www.ebay.ie (irish ebay) and I want to buy it, take all the seats out of it and clean it and put stuff like a bathroom, a bed and stuff in there its so cheap I don’t want to buy a motor home

Since you are *able to carrying more than 8 people, you will need a special commercial vehicle license. Your normal class B license will only allow you to carry up to 8 passengers. a class D1 allows you to get a bus to carry up to 15. a class D is a full bus. At least in Europe anyways
