speeding with no road tax or insurance?

Hi, i bought a car and was driving it home and got caught speeding by nine MPH on the motor way. what will happen to me.
i received the police letter yesterday, asking if i was the driver , but the incident was two months ago,

Did you exchange the v5 with the original owner? Or does he know who or were you live?
The notice of intent to prosecute will go to his address as the change of ownership will not have gone through, he will inform the police who you are and were you live if he has the detail. As a result the fine will come your way, because the car has no tax on it they will report you for no tax and as you have no tax they will assume you have no insurance.
So in short you are looking at a minimum of 6 points and possibly a ban.

If you bought it from a dealer they often have a cover for you which lasts a week to give you time to get you own insurance. There is no excuse for road tax or insurance.
    1. Get insurance now
    2. Get road tax now
3 Hope that the camera had no sim card in

The old owner will receive the fine & hopefully either say he'd sold the car, or pass it on to you. Pay it & hopefully that'll be all. I assume you were caught by a camera rather than a police officer, as without insurance the police would have seized the car on the spot.
