    Yes, (depending how cold the oil is) the hotter the oil and the hotter the stove, the more effecint (less smoke) it burns. this stove is too tricky and dangerous. a nice wood-burning stove with hole drilled in top for oil would be alright, otherwise i would build a two chamber system so that no smoke gets dackdrafted.
